Nostromo, hulking space refinery...
The massive Nostromo from Ridley Scott's Alien is a traveling refinery, sent long distances to bring resources back to Earth. It's a gorgeous dark set piece, and, in a way, a metaphor for human expansion. (Drill baby, drill!)
Nostromo is a visual treat, and with the aid of some brilliant camera work, light years beyond today's CG failures.
